Looking at the published timetable for 24th December, for Oxford to Reading services.
It appears that GWR reckons the following late services will be running after 8pm.
20:08
20:19
20:36
21:02
21:32
22:01
22:05 (change at Didcot).
My argument is (after experiencing the problems on this route post 8pm, last Xmas Eve) is that many of the later services were cancelled at fairly short notice.
This resulted in having to regularly check train time apps for updates, and a scramble for the trains that were not cancelled. By not doing so raised the very real risk of being stranded in Oxford over Xmas.
If GWR cannot get the staff to work late on Xmas Eve, then they should not be putting out a timetable with services running so late.
They have clearly learned nothing from the fiasco of last Xmas Eve.
My prediction is at least half of the above post 8pm services will be cancelled.
