GWR website fail. Just want a ticket!

Can someone tell me why the GWR website is trying to sell me a super off peak single Cardiff Central to London Euston via Birmingham on 24 Dec for £47.20 that for some reason includes a zone 1 London Underground fare? National Rail and Trainline tell me the ticket should be a flat £44.20. I don't want a London Underground ticket! I also don't want to pay the £1.50 booking fee on Trainline. ?!

Virgintrains.co.uk will sell it. They use the trainline booking interface but cruically don't charge their booking fees.

GWR will sell it if you specify the destination as 'London Terminals'.

I think it's happening because Cardiff-Euston via Birmingham isn't normally a permitted route. There's an easement due to engineering works but it's being misinterpreted by webtis (the booking engine used by GWR)

Arriva Trains Wales also use trainline's interface so that would work as well.
