GWR Upcoming Conductor Assesments

I'm pretty sure I didn't see a thread about a recent vacancy for GWR Conductors at Exeter. Did it pass under the radar?

Anyway, has anyone on here got through to the assessment stage? I've got mine booked at Newton Abbot at the end of the month. Already have my practice papers and I'm studying nightly (although still with errors at the moment)

Anyone have any good advice? The assessment is the SCAAT, RAAT and Ticket selling and checking tests, in a 3 hr slot. I've no idea what the next stage is after passing this one.

Your doing the right thing practicing with the examples they have given you, you can’t really do much more. Do the best you can concentrating hard on speed AND accuracy. In my opinion it is very difficult if not impossible to actually complete the tests in the allotted time but it didn’t stop me passing when I did them a year ago.

The next stage is a scenario/group work discussion followed immediately by an interview if you get through the group work.

I did wonder about the next stage, as I've read on here that some people had a telephone interview before the assessments whereas I've gone 'Application - Online Assessments - Assessment Centre'.

Still getting about 5-10 missed on the SCAAT across all three tests which I believe is a little too high. Group assessment sounds doesn't sound fun from what I've read, juggling being not overbearing with not contributing enough.

Assessment is the 30th of January at Newton Abbot station. The slots available were across the 2 days of the 30th and 31st so it would seem there's quite a few candidates. I presume the tests are taken together classroom-style as opposed to individually?

Keep practicing the SCAAT. Go for accuracy first while your practicing and then try to build up the speed.

Yes it’s a classroom style time limited exam.

Hi all,
I’ve gotten through to the second stage of a GWR assessment with the group work etc. Does anyone know what I should expect/what they’ll be looking for?
