Hi, not found a thread for this subject, but is anyone else applying for Reading and are now in the talent pool or are still doing their interviews?

I applied in July last year, Mmi booked for next month. I’m not aware that there have been any further external adverts.

I’ve been waiting in the Talent Pool since April this year. Following my interview I was u see the impression I would be in around August/September as I was asked about holiday dates. I did call a few months back and was told there were no courses planned beyond October. I know there are new trainees that have started but don’t know when they were interviewed or have a clue how long the wait is likely to be. It’s licky I’m already employed.

When did you apply Derv? I applied last November and did Stage 1 in July.

I applied in July 2017 and had already passed the assessments in Swindon on a Mano Application but didn’t get through. I got an e-mail out of the blue in April this year inviting me to a DMI. Not realising it was my final interview I was very happy, positive and upbeat so it went really well. I was told I’d hear back within a week or so. I had an e-mail saying I had been successful before I even got home. Needless to say I was really happy and excited at that. These last 7 months waiting have been tough. You get so elated when you’re successful at something like this and the waiting is almost painful haha.

I found out I’d been successful a couple of weeks ago, email said the start date would be confirmed but most likely in 2019. I applied the same time as you, Derv, so I can’t imagine how many people they’ve got waiting in the pool, feel like I might be waiting quite a while...

Are any of you internal with GWR?
- I just hope I don’t get left in the pool and close it 2 years down like they did the last one :(

Also; do you know how you find out whether you’ve passed enhanced scores if wanting to move TOC’s selection?

No, I work as a conductor for another neighbouring TOC. I asked one of the recruitment managers about that and she didn’t really answer, so I’m not sure.

Got a phone call on Monday and an e-mail on Tuesday with a Conditional Offer to start a course early next year woohoo. Got my medical coming up shortly! Can’t wait to get started, after a long g wait I had to punch myself asking “is this really happening at last?” So excited!!

Does anybody know where I stand regarding the 1st stage of assessments as I've done the freightliner 1st stage but I gather GWR don't use the group Bourdon test?
