Got invited to assessment day today. Already have done most but need to resit one of the computer tests and the MMI, originally applied in November 22, when it was shown on FG’s internal job page. Other than a hiring manager email this is the first I’ve heard and was quite surprised!

I was about 13 months from application to getting to assessment centre. Then the process up to the end point is pretty quick

Not to bad, makes my process pretty small in comparison, tho I'm still waiting and this with another TOC.

I received a rejection email for Fratton today I had made it to video interview stage I'm devastated

I’ve just checked and found I received the same rejection for Fratton on Monday as well. Had missed the email up there now.
Sad times.

Just been offered a driver course for Oxford this afternoon starting mid August, internal applicant applied Jan 2021 if it helps.

Just received an email saying ‘
We are pleased to advise that you have completed the first stage assessment for the role of Trainee Train Driver - Fratton.
The next step of the process will be stage two assessment for which you will be contacted by email in due course to confirm the details’

Not much to say really, I think it’s three or four questions you get and you have to record your answer. When you’re ready to start you get however long to think of your answer (I think it might be two mins but can’t remember) just think promoting a safety culture, customer service (they really seem to be pushing it in driver recruitment at the moment) and you will be fine. Have some examples of situations you have dealt with in the past as you might get something on that, ie working under pressure, working in a strictly regulated environment etc etc. You get TWO attempts to record your answer, personally I would always record a second time, as it gives you a chance to watch your first recording back beforehand, which gives you an extra couple of minutes of thinking time in how you can Improve your answer for the second recording. Video interview
You aren't actually being interviewed by a real person. It will give you a question on the screen, you have 2 mins to read and then it will automatically record you for 5 mins (I'm sure that's the timings I had).
It isn't questions about, "what do you know about GWR", it's more competency based questions - Give an example of continuous learning.
Make sure you are alone without distractions, you can't have another go. You get two attempts to answer (it will record you then ask if you wish to re-record) that's the only options. Should take too long.
