What a strange question. The tax bands are easy to find and any number of tax calculator websites will do the calculation.
Sounds about right XDSomeone I know has an interview for London Paddington in a couple weeks (I think he said it is on 8th or 9th December).
He applied for Heathrow Express in their recent campaign last month. Apparently on the day of his interview he has to wait under a clock on a specific platform
All seems a bit Harry Potter-ish the way he described it.

Yeah I could see myself. I did mine on a tablet and you could rewatch before you submit it. You also get a chance when it’s uploading to the site to rewatch it also

Just got an email invitation to the Assessment center - I applied for Heathrow express (Paddington)
the assessment center dates start from February 2026.
there are around 8 tests - 4 on paper, 4 on desktop and an MMI (if you pass all the tests) - its a full day

I'm assuming they carried out their checks then contacted us regarding assessment days.
I've passed to National Standard so I'm wondering if you or anyone knows whether I'll have to repeat each test again or would I only be required to take the assessment I haven't done yet which in my case would be the MMI?
Any advice/replies is much appreciated.

Same here - I applied at the same location and have booked my assessment day.
Just wondering if I'll have to do everything again.... Id rather not and focus on the one I actually need to do and apply my full effort in revising for it.
Anyone had any experience with GWR in this regard and if so, what did you have to do? Retake every test again or take the test you hadn't started/taken part in?

Ah nice, we might bump into each other as I’ve got a conditional for a course in February as well although I’m at Exeter.
I did receive an email inviting me to an assessment but I had to email them back as I have already taken some and passed them and I will take the remainder tests on the 04/12 with another company.

Yes, 1 week from doing the video interview to getting a result was unexpected.
No slots for anything offered yet. They'll be checking my National Insurance number against the database now. The email says that it could be some time before they offer the next step.
Yeah my course is also the 16th Feb. Dunno how many of us from here will be there as the GWR threads always seem to be quieter than most other TOCs seemingly.

Just did it 3 questions but I think they change on a
Rota so be have example available,
1) on dealing with procedure
2) decisions making
3) concentration
4) professional development
5) why you want to be a drive and what you will do to prepare

Does anyone know if GWR let you know if references have all passed? My current employer has had a reference request (assuming past have had it as well) so I know they’ve had it. So just wondering if GWR will let me know if it’s all gone through with no issues? Or do they only contact if an issue arises? Not expecting any problems but would be nice to know for certain.
If anyone is still looking for the questions on the video interview they are:
- Tell me about a time when you had to make a quick decision under pressure. What did you do and why?
- Give an example of when you had to follow strict procedures and communicate clearly with others.
What was the outcome?
- What attracts you to the role of a train driver, and how will you prepare yourself for the challenges of the training programme and the role itself?
- Can you please reconfirm the full postcode of your current home address. (This one you have to type out)

I had different questions but similar in terms of outcome.
Not personally but asked a mate who’s a driver and he said he knew they had requested the reference and it had been replied to but didn’t hear from GWR directly.
