GWR Trainee Depot Driver DMI

Hi all,

Done loads of searches but didn’t find anything for this type of job!

I did an assessment day including MMI for the first time a few weeks ago and just had the email saying I passed it all and I’ve just booked my DMI for a few weeks time.

Does anyone who works at GWR provide any up to date info on what to expect - apart from learning about the company/traction/routes they serve and brushing up on competency based scenarios…?

I’ll be brutally honest, I was surprised at getting through this far on my first attempt…. so I just want to make sure I’m 100% ready.

Congratulations!

I have recently gone through the process with GWR and have a start date (exciting). I have to say, my DMI didn't ask about company/routes/traction etc.

But can't say that will be for every depot

Hi Congrats on getting that far. Mine was for another TOC but was very relaxed. Five competency questions and then some about me and why I wanted the role that were unmarked..... Good luck!

Which depot is this for?

It'll probably be the usual questions such as why you want the job, traction types, coping with shift work (especially nights), what you think the hardest part of the training would be, etc.
