GWR Train Manager Annual Leave Entitlement

Is anyone able to tell me how much Annual Leave I will start with as an external TM with GWR?
Also, how does leave allocation work is there a window where you put your requests in and see whether your successful etc? How far in advance can you put in for leave?
Just planning ahead as it looks like I might be starting my course at the end of January if I pass my medical in a couple of weeks, and guessing that I might not get much choice of leave in my first year of what’s left!

32 days leave.

Varies by depot, but you'll get a number of Block Weeks, allocated by your LDC and the rest are floating days. Floating days you can request a year to the day in advance, and you'll know which number you were to apply. A certain number will be guaranteed their leave (usually first 2or3) and any one else won't know until a few days before l, when that days sheets are produced

Generally, yes. But obviously it's easier to swap for certain times of the year.

Generally, yes. But obviously it's easier to swap for certain times of the year.

I guess that some people want school holidays whereas others want to totally avoid them!

Where are you due to be based? It seems that Paddington is moving quite quickly (is for me anyway) whereas some people seem to be playing the waiting game for other bases.

I applied for Cardiff but was asked would Bristol be achievable for me too . Hoping with the new timetable launching and extra trains that it will be quickly .
