GWR -- some improvements?

I used to truly despise GWR. However, I had a completely uneventful return journey (with multiple easy connections) with them this week, and it feels like there's been at least *some* improvement.

Most of my more recent journeys have also been relatively okay with no major issues.

The 1st class lounge staff at Paddington also seem to be a lot nicer and more attentive than last year.

It's incredibly rare that anyone writes a positive thread, and so I thought I might start one...

Did a return trip at the weekend and the TM, 1st class hosts and Paddington lounge staff were all faultless (as were the journeys)

My biggest issue with GWR has been Network Rail, especially the many many infrastructure faults between Paddington and Reading. Paddington staff aren't amazing but compared to Euston it's not bad. Don't love IET's, don't hate them

On the positive side, the vast majority of staff are friendly and helpful, Pullman Dining, a "can do attitude" to operations e.g. Euston diversions and some creditable improvisation with set swaps etc, functioning seat reservations (hello EMR), management pitching into the operation when staff shortages occur. The development of the Exeter metro services is quite something too.

One of the better TOC's IME. Run by a career railwayman and it shows.
