Shalford sees an hourly service but Chilworth, Gomshall, Dorking West and Betchworth only recieve random irregular services. Is there any reason they can't recieve an hourly service or be reduced to parliamentary stops? GWR needs to make their mind up as to what these stations need to be served for, besides for a small number of ramblers who won't use them due to the irregular service. That said, I know GWR has much bigger fish to fry than this backwater line.

There is a pattern, they get 2 hourly off peak calls with additional peak time services. Chilworth and Gomshall, and Dorking West and Betchworth being served by alternate trains.

...which replaced a pattern of an hourly Reading-Shalford and a 2-hourly-or-less Guildford-Redhill.

There is sufficient station time at Guildford (even in the 769-ready timetable) for the trains to call at all stations, but there may be pathing conflicts - or it may reflect the demand in a wealthy part of Surrey with stations that are (largely) poorly sited.

The original reason for the Chilworth / Gomshall and Dorking West / Betchworth alternating pattern was to keep the Reading to Redhill cycle down to three hours, and because there was only effectively a commitment to a stopper every two hours off-peak. Since the timetables have been elongated such that there is more slack in the cycles and more units needed.

It would be great to see the timings restored that allowed the off-peak schedules to be run with six units.
