Been in a talent pool for a while now. If you are offered a position do you have to say yes there and then? Id have to discuss with the wife a move across the country now it’s been a few years since I passed interview. If you decline due to bad timing I presume you are out of the pool and that’s the end of it?

Whilst it’s entirely your prerogative to accept or decline. I would think at the very least, if you were to decline the offer at that time, you would end up back in the talent pool and at the back of the queue - not so good if you’re for a small depot, you’ve been waiting a good number of years and the clock will be ticking on your Psychometrics.
worst case, as you say, would be the end of it.

Might be a good idea to raise the moving issue with the domestic authorities now and not wait for the offer! It might give you a better steer on wether accepting would be a good idea or accept going back to square one.

Not sure I was clear enough, Im a qualified driver so not worried about tests expiring.
Was just hoping they give you a night to discuss it as it’s a big move as a family. A lot will depend on the housing market as well for us.

Surely as you’re a Qualified Driver they would give you a bit of time to make the decision, even if just a couple of days.
How long have you been waiting? I thought talent pools for Qualified Drivers would be a lot less waiting as they need you quicker than training someone up from scratch

Few years so far, I’ve heard stories of people never getting a job from it. Not sure if that’s true. Guess they are popular places to relocate too.

Still waiting for an interview and thats been over a year lol
