Hi all,

Thinking of a trip from London to St Austell to the Eden project in August.

Would love to take the evening Pullman service and eat on board (1803 ex pad) - does anyone have pics/reviews on the new IET Pullman service as I guess by then there will be no HST's.

Can you book your table to eat as soon as you've bought your tickets (we will be travelling down first class so I think we have priority on booking)

I can book it now as the dates are there but what happens if there is no Pullman food? We are in the midlands so would hate to book and arrive to find no pullman dining. Does anyone have any experience of this? I've read the tripadvisor reviews but can't find much on the new IET experience.

Thanks in advance!

I did this a few weeks back ( on an IET ex Plymouth); the service (to me) seemed very similar to the Pullman offering on HSTs (ie excellent!)

I don't see why not - at https://www.gwr.com/plan-journey/journey-information/on-board/pullman-dining/pullman-booking#/intro - what makes you think it would be a problem? I've only ever used this off-peak on standard class tickets so I don't have any direct experience of booking in advance.

There's never any guarantee that something won't go wrong. FWIW we were travelling during engineering diversions but the Pullman service worked more or less as advertised. If you're thinking about compensation then I think you'd be looking more for good-will than anything formal.
