GWR pay scales

Hi,

I'm looking for some information if possible about GWR pay scales. I am regularly scanning their jobs page but only around 50% of the jobs on offer have a pay scale attached to them.

For example a recent train manager job at Paddington had the pay in the advert but the same job at the same time in the southwest region had no mention of pay at all?

It's not necessarily a train managers job I'm looking at but just don't want to waste my time or theirs applying for a job that won't pay what I might hope!

I'm hoping that by not setting a pay scale that the wage may be open to negotiation for the right candidate, but anyone who has some insider information would be greatly appreciated.

TMs throughout the business are, as of last month's pay deal, on £36,331 pa. There are no London Weighting enhancements (apart from for some ex-Thames and GWT colleagues that used to receive it who still do).

Although I'm interested in a train managers job I'm not purely setting my focus on that.
A recent job advertised near me was for a team organiser, the description seemed mostly admin based but with some managerial responsibility. As it had no pay scale attached I ended up not applying but your answer says that the pay would be negotiated, I guess that's why they ask you what wage you would expect to earn on the application form.

You'd be on a training salary until you qualify (usually around 4-6 months maximum, I don't know what it is but significantly less). You're then on the full rate from the first shift that you work as a 'proper' TM. In addition to the salary stated, you'll receive overtime payments for working rest days, sundays and any additional time (e.g picking up a longer turn when spare etc), and ticket sale commission. An extra £5-10k is easily obtainable, and some are manage a lot more.

tiptoptaff is correct, there is no set pay scale for MS ('management') grades. It's offer/negotiate territory.
