Not necessarily true. There's definitely a management overtime form that I've used on numerous occasions, but does depend on your specific managerial role.
Lord Creed is correct, it does depend on your role, and the specifics in your contract. Generally MS Grade is time in lieu for overtime. In control for example it's time in lieu unless it's very late notice, then we get the option of "taking the money" instead - but that's not a contractual thing it's a local agreement.
As for when it applies - it depends on your role again. Some MS grade staff are still rostered- at which point overtime counts as rest days worked and earlier starts / later finishes than booked hours. Other MS staff are expected to manage their own time directly, in which case overtime would just be anything over and above your contracted hours.
