Hi all
What would be a typical day of a GWR driver out of London Paddington? Do you get to see the whole nerwork?

Cheers

High speed man would typically have a day along the lines of
Paddington to Exeter to Paddington or

Paddington to Bristol to paddington to depot or

Paddington to Cardiff pass to Bristol parkway then to Padodington

You get the idea....

Local drivers would cover several destinations in a day in several Greenford trips followed say by a stopper to Oxford and back.

Hi irish_rail
Thank you for your reply. On these high speed routes would they be straight through routes say London - Penzance or get off in reading for a break before carrying on to Penzance?

Two depots at Paddington Hss go to the mess room, Old oak and North pole depot, Swansea, Oxford, Bristol, Cheltenham Spa and Exeter diversionary routes are Gloucester to Severn tunnel Jct, Melksham, Greenford and Westbury to Bathhamton (Bath Spa) the reason Paddington don't go to Plymouth is that they would take work away from both Exteter and Plymouth depots and possibly Penzance depot as well.
Paddington Ltv go to Old Oak depot, Greenford, Bedwyn and Worcester.

LTV Padd also cover Oxford and 387 Padd-Reading-Didcot Parkway. They also do the Windsor (daytime)
Worcester tends to be done by Worcester/Oxford depot now with most Padd LTV HST drivers only going as far as Oxford.
