GWR services are greatly disrupted between Newport and Bristol Parkway and between Yeovil Pen Mill and Castle Cary possibly until the end of the day due to overrunning Engineering Work and without bustitution. The latter will also affect SWR

First, overrunning engineering work has meant bi directional working over the up line through the Severn Tunnel. This meant the reduction of Padd South Wales services to hourly(apart from peak services), and Taunton Cardiff trains not operating beyond Temple Meads. Then around 1645, a person hit by a train near Bath meant no trains in that direction, and the lack of trains from Portsmouth meant nothing to form some of the remainder of the Cardiff trains.

Also over-running engineering works between Castle Cary and Yeovil Pen Mill, blocking the line to Weymouth and also displaced crew due to a variety of reasons have led to more cancellations. It was very odd seeing so many 'Uni of Bath' buses in Trowbridge this evening.

Also, a rather gruesome event whereby the person who was hit by a train was still alive afterwards...

Then, finally, the 1645 from Padd was held outside Cardiff for an age while Network Rail and Arriva Trains Wales played a full size version of Inglenook.
