Hi, a family friend has got the role of dispatcher up in Gloucestershire and I’m just wondering what shifts they are to expect? Are they set shifts all week then go into another shift set the next week?

Thanks

Surely this is the sort of question your family friend should have asked at interview? There will likely be a roster set every X weeks (which is hugely variable) that determines what they'll be doing.

the question isn’t there to be ‘oh they should have done this’ they were in the talent pool for over a year.

Still even after being offered the job, they can still request this sort of information. As I said, station rosters can be highly variable and might be a range of early, late, night and weekend shifts which may be staggered, may potentially involve relief shifts and will rotate on varying schedules.

I should have rephrased the question. They know what sort of shifts to expect it was more how the rostering would work

Ah right. Yes normally rotates every [insert number] weeks.
