Both the ex FGW and ex FGWL services have the same stopping pattern up the Cotswold line.
Anyway, since the line was redoubled a few years ago, the timetable was completely rewritten.
I was wondering that. It’s all very well the day after the merger saying that the same services run and you could say whether a particular service was previously one or the other, but 13 years on none of the services may be traced back in the same way.

There's a very strong argument then that there are no ex-FGWL services in that case if the path was allocated to GW.

Similarly, there's a strong argument that there are no ex-FGW services either. So maybe no compensation at all is due.

Does this make us all happy? Of course it doesn't. But GWR are due to go on to Delay Repay real soon, which as pointed out earlier should make this whole thing goes away. So the practical issue for us to address is not sorting out an almost obsolete system, but encouraging the implementation of its replacement as soon as possible.

As previously stated, this is a situation with so much ambiguity as to the service category it comes under, that there can be no conclusion other than that, as per S.69 of the CRA, the most favourable interpretation for the consumer prevails.

And certainly, at least 50% of the ticket is due back in compensation, as that is what the NRCoT guarantees as a minimum.
