Yet the Tfl trains were only shown going to Ealing and there were no announcements advising the London bound passengers to board them. What’s going on here.
It is convention to advertise the TfL Rail services from Reading (and any other slow workings) as terminating at Ealing Broadway rather than Paddington and has been for as long as I can remember. I imagine this can't be overriden just because there is disruption or long distance trains are full.
The time differential is such that in normal circumstances it doesn't make sense for passengers from Reading to Paddington to catch these services.
Moreover, both the TfL Rail and SWR services may leave Reading empty but fill up to capacity along their routes so suggesting that Reading passengers use these services go avoid overcrowding isn't necessarily correct.
