Anybody know the specific reasons Gwr not running very well out of Paddington and Reading today?

It's Sunday so it's normally pretty hopeless due to crew shortage

But also looks as if there is a signal failure between Swindon and Didcot, although that's only happened in the last hour or so I think.

This may have been covered before but whilst delayed westbound at Reading I witnessed several full and standing Gwr Paddington bound trains. Yet the Tfl trains were only shown going to Ealing and there were no announcements advising the London bound passengers to board them. What’s going on here. It seems a significant health and safety Covid mistake.

It is convention to advertise the TfL Rail services from Reading (and any other slow workings) as terminating at Ealing Broadway rather than Paddington and has been for as long as I can remember. I imagine this can't be overriden just because there is disruption or long distance trains are full.

The time differential is such that in normal circumstances it doesn't make sense for passengers from Reading to Paddington to catch these services.

Moreover, both the TfL Rail and SWR services may leave Reading empty but fill up to capacity along their routes so suggesting that Reading passengers use these services go avoid overcrowding isn't necessarily correct.
