GWR Class 57s Summer Daytime trains

Hi all,

I note that in years gone by 57s with short mk3 formations have ran daytime trains for GWR.

With First Group issuing a tender for new Locos for GWR and TPE, do we know if this is expected to occur again before being replaced?

No, the daytime trains ceased several years ago

It was only ever a stopgap to cover a gap in the GWR West fleet which was most acute on Summer Saturdays when pretty much everything needed strengthening. Things have moved on, including the 2tph Cornish main line timetable which provides adequate capacity even in the summer.
