It has been reported on the Facebook 165/166 group that parts from 166210 will be used to enable the return of 166216. 210 will then take the place of the long term stopped unit due a major electrical failure.

Brilliant, thanks so much for that. That would mean no spares at all then. Should one fail in the Thames Valley, they can be only be covered by whichever Peak Bourne End service isn't running at the time, which isn't the most robust of a fall back plan. Very stretched fleet at the moment.

165108 was on Portsmouths only yesterday, and then ran ECS to Gloucester just before midnight. I assume it went to SPM this morning.

Yep, no spares - the cupboard is bare. The peak Bourne ends is the same diagram so 165118 was on there this morning but now stopped hence why 165119 is now allocated. If something goes pop, something goes uncovered! I wouldn't say stretched but very definitely intensively worked!

165108 was only on a Portsmouth diagram for a short while but didn't actually go to Portsmouth, (it only worked a portion of that diagram between Bristol TM & Cardiff and back, 1F18 & 1F25)

Back on its original diagram, its last passenger working was 2T52 19:50 Worcester FS > Bristol TM then ECS to SPM.

165135 was down here at Paignton last week, but two car Turbos are rare. Been more 2 car 158s lately but they are not ideal. 3 three car turbos today. four is the ideal.

I think that the Reading / Bristol split of 165s has been static since 165103 (the final 165), came out of Wolverton at the end of June. However, it does get a little bit complicated with the weekend loan of a "spare" Reading unit to Bristol, especially if the loan unit goes astray and ends up in the West for a week.

165 101 has conked out at Freshford on 2V69 this morning, managed to limp forward to Bath Spa, where it got terminated 27 minutes late.

EDIT looks like Portsmouth - Cardiff behind it used platform 2 at Bath Spa, so using reversible running now
