GWR Class 150s

GWR are not in a position or not of “wanting” them. Porterbrook is not going to spend the money to keep them going and, at present, the DfT is not going to authorise their future use on their TOCs.

So, unless something dramatic happens, the Welsh sets are heading for the scrapyard.

Could the DfT block their export ( suggested on another thread this morning - albeit with a suggestion that it's TfW units involved https://www.railforums.co.uk/thread...-now-just-class-15x-to-go.250144/post-7250805 ) on the grounds of their condition?

I see no reason why the export of 150s would be a DfT issue, the moment they're off the tracks they're just an oversized load on a truck.

Falmouth line was a disaster area again yesterday, Saturday like a fortnight ago. 150 in the naughty siding in Truro.

I dread to think what will happen next year when an hourly train is supposed to run to Newquay if the self contained branch is often in trouble.

On a good note the new signalling at Truro is very slick with the Falmouth train able to pull up to the Highertown tunnel mouth when a late down train is arriving in the platform.

I'd imagine it's something along the lines of warranty repairs or GWR finding something that was missed/not done properly upon its return to the south west
