A friend who lives in GWR land (Cheltenham(ish)) has seen some posters around celebrating black history and was wondering if anyone had more information or an idea of where it might be possible to find a copies of these posters or just more information about them in general (how many are there for instance).

Anyone able to help?

There are series of them at both Gloucester and Filton Abbey Wood stations, although the subjects are different at both locations.

Is there not any small print on the posters themselves?
As I said, they're different types of posters at each location. The ones at Filton Abbey Wood show pictures of the railway staff in the Bristol area and give details of their backgrounds. I haven't really taken much notice about the ones at Gloucester, although I do remember that they are different to those at Filton Abbey Wood. They've both been there for quite a while, so may well not be specifically for Black History Month; I don't think that it's mentioned on the ones at Filton Abbey Wood, although it is at Gloucester.

I've searched the internet, and found some more information for you.

The pictures at Filton Abbey Wood were commissioned by the Severnside Community Rail Partnership in 2022. They're given the title "Pioneers of the Railway" and celebrate individuals from under-represented backgrounds who have strived for progress and made a difference on the railways. Here's a link to the website:
It doesn't specifically mention Black History Month, though.

Those at Gloucester, though, were for Black History Month in 2023. They were commissioned by the Gloucestershire Community Rail Partnership and showcase images of individuals from the county's black community.

As well as Gloucester, there were (or still are, I'm not sure) exhibitions at Stroud, Stonehouse and Cam & Dursley stations.
