I am just sorting out some photographs taken on November 22 which included several of GWR IET 802012 at Penzance Platform 2 on November 22.

The up end of the unit had the coupler uncovered and was noted to depart empty around 13:26.

I am not sure if it proceeded to Long Rock depot or went somewhere else. I didn't see it when I set off on the later Plymouth bound train.

Had it failed earlier in the day and been uncoupled?

Of the top of my head i think that one sat at Long Rock for about a week late last month so may have gone straight there.

It got stopped at Long Rock on the 5th for cracks. It eventually got a concession to run ECS to North Pole for welding and was ferried east in stages. You saw it on it’s first stage, departing for Laira.

Since then it has been welded up at North Pole (Hitachi do all the temporary welds there) and is now back in service.
