158766 today however due to an incident between Exeter and Newton Abbot was then cancelled at Exeter so was then attached to 150002 and went down on 2C43 together.

Now been terminated at Abergavenny on the 09:08 Milford Haven to Manchester Piccadilly:158957 (GWR) on a jolly today, trapped at Canton due Engineering Work so visiting Milford Have, MANCHESTER PICC and Pembroke Dock today

One would think that GWR would ensure they had cover (with the usual one 'hot spare') for their own services before lending out to other TOCs.
Any opportunity GWR have of shooting themselves in the foot they appear to be very adept at taking.
It was looked at last night to see if the set could be moved to Bristol; but no crew available with the required combinations of route and traction knowledge; at the time the unit needed moving.
With the Severn Tunnel shut and limited paths available via Lydney (never mind almost all crew who sign the route being used to operate the booked services via Lydney as it is); the set was effectively trapped on Canton with no GWR work it could cover. Banking goodwill with Arriva isn’t necessarily a bad thing with the knock-on disruption they suffer with current weekend issues.

Certainly not something you see everyday. Sorry Portsmouth passengers.

“Platform 1 for the 12.23 Northern service to Penzance...”Just imagine that running a Northern service, it would turn a few heads - as would if a Northern unit was hired out to GWR.
GWR seeing the £££ signs ahead of their own customers needs. If paths were an issue it could have been attached to a service train and dropped off at Gloucester. Last weekend GWR were able to recover a unit.
Nothing to do with safety case, it could have possibly gone back to Gloucester on the back of an ATW but then getting it to Bristol would have needed to attach to a 150/158 and most units are 166 on that line now and running it alone would have wasted a scarce driver. If "JN114"/GWR control could have got it back I have little doubt he wouldn't have, maybe some should accept the word of our insiders and not just use things to have a good old ill-informed anti GWR rant. And I certainly ain't no apologist. It would have had to been attached to an ATW train but was it worth the trouble when safety case paper work has to be done.

No 2C69 is... 158957 is on it todayDiagram starting 2C42 to revert back to 150 operation now, as this service now heads to Newquay in the high summer timetable. In this case now, is 2C43 the replacement 158 diagram?

Although both diagrams are booked as 158s, there is still a high likelihood that both diagrams will not be 158s (especially 2C69 diagram). No 158s today. 153325 + 150265 on 2C67 and 150126 on 2C69

Yes, today:The diagrams have changed this week due to the Summer Timetable alterations. The 0524 ex Bristol TM cannot be a 158 as it runs to Newquay during this period. Diagramming is all over the place this week due to the Severn Tunnel closure so almost everything is STP amended.
