Hi All,

Often see on here the knitting is down etc with regards to the WC and EC ML and problems with tangled up pantograph etc

How is the new design working out on the GWML - any major failures yet, is it better, more reselient/reliable?

Or to early and too few sets using it to tell?

Ask this question again in 2 years or so.

What I can say so far is that I've seen no arcing or sparks between the OHLE contact wire and train pantograph carbon contacts, even with 8 or 10 car trains with 2 pantographs, as promised by the engineers. Compared to what you saw with the Heathrow Express trains using the 1990's Heathrow/Stockley - Paddington OHLE with visible sparks at speed, it's very impressive.
