GWML Disruption

More problems this morning on the way into Pad, Hex's 1Y30 has failed between Acton and Ladbroke with brake issues. A second unit is being sent from Pad to Thunderbird, fitters having been unable to rectify the fault. Everything heading in is on the Reliefs, 2GXX Greenfords have been caped to provide more paths.

There seems to be a bit of a jinx on trains passing that section of line.... that's about the third train in as many weeks to fail in virtually the same location, just outside Old Oak!

It certainly isn't a lucky stretch of line! As well as the regular failed trains, it seems to be a favourite spot for signalling problems too - yesterday there was a track circuit failure at Southall (as well as the obligitory failed train, this time a freight at Acton I believe), and this evening it seems they've lost all indications at Stockley Brisge.

I understand that, as of a few minutes ago, signalling has now been returned to normal. 30min delays are of course still officially estimated due to that particular problem, though, plus one or two faulty Turbos are milling around and generally not helping!

All in all... another not-so-brilliant day. What joys shall the weekend bring...?

165119 was causing some issue's on monday it was working on one of the Greenford diagrams however the 18:15 from Paddington and 18:45 return from Greenford were cancelled. I saw 165119 sat at Paddington after I got off 360205 from Ealing Broadway at around 18:55 so something must have happened to it.

Seems another turbo somewhere had failed on Monday as one train out of Paddington to Oxford which calls at Ealing Broadway at 18:31 was formed of just 1 3-carriage unit instead of two units (ege a 5 carriage train)

166202 is also out of action with a seized final drive so this week is nopt being good to FGW

It's been an abysmal week for punctuality on the GWML. Signal failures seem to be the theme of the week; or indeed year and worryingly frequent. What's the issue?!

I agree, is there a deep rooted problem at Hayes? To the untrained eye it doesn't look a very complicated stretch of line so why is it so hard to keep the signals working?
