Travelling to Bath on Saturday 16 August from Guildford or Woking and returning the same day. Likely to be 4 of us travelling together and I have a gold card discount, which would work as far as Swindon.

Looks like the cheapest fares at the moment are just advance purchase tickets, unless anyone knows different.

Also if you are a group of 5 people, can 4 travel on one gold card discount and 1 on a network rail card discount and still get a group discount?

Cheers

Didcot is the limit for NEE cards, and obviously the train has to stop there unless etc. The group fare seems to have changed a bit, look up for a group of five on the ticket finder. You don't get group and railcard discount together, it's one or the other.

You could do it for free if you're prepared to use the limited SWT direct service from Woking to Bath and your SWT free weekend tickets!

Thanks for the replies. Turns out the £12 advances have gone. As for via SWT, people are planning on arriving by 10.30am so that isn't an option. I'll respond to PMs shortly. Cheers.

Didn't know it was one or the other. Useful to know that.

Travelling via Reading it can be done for under £22 each with no requirement to call at Didcot - you've a PM :)

£17.80 I make it and that can probably be beaten - the tickets I knew to save on Guildford-Reading are no longer valid.
