It is the mangled remains of a loco, and all of the remainder of this class of locomotive has been withdrawn and scrapped, bar one that has been preserved.

There was an early AC electric that got fairly well flattened by a transformer straddling the line way back...Could it be class 81 E3009?

Well I shall present my apologies to everyone on this thread. I completely forgot this thread after I posted my proposition and I wasn't able to log on RUK for a week after that: it was from a Class 172. Sorry again.

For the proposition above, I think it's a 91.
