Educated guess, you've got hold of the emblem off the side of 55005, The Prince of Wales' Own Regiment of Yorkshire.

No the crests above the nameplates on Fragonset locos were of a completely different, more flattened style, and the two 47s (47709/12) painted into Blue Pullman nanking blue livery were named after Greek gods.

I do believe that gg1 has come up with the goods here.

I often used to see 258 in my years as a teen 'spotter between 88 and 91. I remember at the time thinking it was slightly bizarre that an AC loco was named after a Welsh narrow gauge line, Track Basher's last couple of clues jogged my memory.
