It was only stated that the service it is operating was available as a cab view video in 1993, it wasn't explicitly stated that unit was involved..until later.

After that clue my thinking was Eurostar, which was new in 1993ish and could well have been in a cab view video, hence my reasoning made me think it could be a 395.

This later hint explicitly stated the unit was actually in the video.

Ahhh fair enough, I read the first hint as it being the train featured in the cab view window, rather than just the service the train was operating. It would still make it difficult for it to be a 395, as they operate over HS1 which didn't exist in '93, making a cab view video rather difficult, and the Eurostars never operated domestic services either.

As to when i said that were close - 150 would have been the closest, as was northernrail with 153 as some of the chassis components are fairly similar
