indeedy doody

I'm running out of ideas now :( to make it more interesting - just describe a TOC now instead of the north/south thing.

described by Rail magazine as having a hideous colour scheme and a name chosen by a three year old.

Franchise with the longest time until renewal / refranchising.

2 possible answers - one is a true franchise, the other a management contract

yep.

their colour scheme was painted on the majority of their units, and with certain units changing TOC leasing, their colour scheme has been seen so far with itself, FNW, Northern, ATW, EMT and ATN.

I would say central, but ATN doesnt exist any more. If however you mean ATN liveried units, then Central would be my guess.

Hmmmm thinking out loud.....There are a few still in the original Northwestern stars livery....We can discount the 3rd rail gubbins (Southern, Southeastern, Thameslink, Silverlink), can discount VWC, GNER, FCC, C2C & LM cos electric. MML, GC & Chiltern & HT only do intercity. You have said that it is not Central, FGW, Wessex, SWT, FNW, Northern, ATW, ATN or EMT. Can rule out FSR.

Thus I now guess it is TPE (pre 185 introduction) or one...... or at a pedantic push Northern Spirit or Northwestern.....

North Western trains (blue with gold stars) is correct.
