Manningtree's got three platforms though . I thought about Brimsdown or one of the other stations on that line - but the StanEx's run fast through that lot, don't they? Can't think of many more with an MCB crossing at the north (?) end though!

Incidentally, is it 4m21s for every train? You're more dedicated than me, obviously!

The S&K used to be the main line to London of course, so that fits. And trains to/from London pass through every Saturday currently (only 1 each way at the moment though).

Clue 1: I have just the two through platforms, though you can see the remains of more.

Clue 2: Trains go four different ways from here, but passengers boarding here have to go south to go north.

Clue 3: The absolute block section in one direction is just short of 25 miles long, and the nearest signalbox to the south is even further away (yeah, I know - had to be a signalling one in somewhere )

Clue 4 - note edit!: The only two TOCs that called here a few years ago are now one, but another now calls too.

Castleford only has 1 platform, but has the remains of another. I can't imagine any long sections near Castleford either.

Hmm, must be difficult! I did notice that the signals at the south end of the station were plated 'PN' - but that's definitely not the signalbox at the north end of the platforms...

Carnforth!

There used to be 7 platforms at Carnforth, some remains are still there, 4 through and 3 bay.

Clue 2: Trains go four different ways from here, but passengers boarding here have to go south to go north.

Carnforth - Skipton, Carnforth - Barrow, Carnforth - Preston and Carnforth - Oxenholme. And to head north up to Oxenholme you need to go south via Lancaster.

Arriva Trains Northern and First North Western, went down to just Northern, and now Northern and First Transpennine I think.

That's the chap! 'PN' is of course Preston, but Carnforth Station Junction box controls the north end of the existing platforms...along with that near-25 mile block section to Settle, now that Wennington's been closed after being switched out for many years.

Clue Two: I closed down for many years before reopening again.

Clue Three: Many trains pass by me, but not as many pass through me, and even less call at me.

Clue Four: My original station building still stands, but is apparently going to be moved for preservation.

Clue 1: I have one bay, but it's my single through platform that handles most of my traffic.

Clue 2: I am located on a north-south route near the sea, with just one regular TOC.

Clue 3: (here it is!) You can find signals plated 'CR', but another signalbox controls signals plated 'S' just to the south - both boxes are within sight of the station.

Clue 4: Could HSTs soon be making a return?
