The following is aimed at OxtedL:

I deliberately waited there because I knew you would also give a quick response. No pointing accumulating posts every two minutes if I am going to be responding to different posters each time! :p

Also, what's with the :o? I can see why you felt it was in South Yorkshire, but is it really that surprising to see a Northern-colour shelter as opposed to a PTE one (with the similarities between them being the reason for the easy mistake).

Anyhow, it is not on the Harrogate line. Neither is it Gainsborough Lea Road; this station is in territory that has not yet been considered.

Layton and Moss Side are miles out. Streethouse (another I had to check ) isn't really unchartered territory.

Go north, amigos.

I would assume it's somewhere on what is now the T&W, having formerly been third rail territory (I think :|). Given I don't know the T&W very well though, having only done Central to Sunderland, I'll go for one I don't know and say Howdon.

I didn't realise that the units appeared alongside each other anywhere if I'm honest. It is classic North Eastern, which isn't much help as the Metro network is more specific geographically. I'm assuming the network was handed over in stages. Tynemouth?

Tynemouth it is. During the Metro's staged introduction BR still ran through routes yet to be converted. At the time the Gentleman took the photo BR was still running between Tynemouth & Newcastle via North Shields and Wallsend (as a baby apparentley I did the journey a couple of times) and the metro was running from Tynemouth to Newcastle (Haymarket?) via the Coast. I wish I was a bit older and had the opportunity to have bashed it then!

Anyway, your go!
