Winsford?

Also, just to point out that this thread is a week and a day (give or take a couple of hours) from its 1 year anniversary...who'd have thunk it eh? :P

*awaits the inevitable average posts per day statistics at that point...;)*

Nope. Here's a wider range shot.

My first attempt at setting a question (found this photo on an old camera of mine). No idea how hard this is—and this is the full picture, sorry.

Yes it's doctored :P

Oh no... it's another wall!

A completely wild guess (barring location because new guys tend to do local-ish ones first - sorry Eagle ;)): Coventry

One more for now, because I want to read up on other things in the forum.

Same tactic, different area/TOC: Doncaster

Southall? (looks a bit like non-roman script covered up - though maybe I'm imagining it)

If you look closely at the photo it looks like some colour has been blanked at the bottom of the sign. I think Southall is a good bet, in the absence of any original thinking on my part... :D

I'll put in a bid for West Ealing on the off chance.

I can't tell you the station as such, but I can tell you it's on platform 1 of whichever station it's on.

I'll enter a guess at Carshalton, and floor is open in the highly unlikely event that I have guessed right.

Here's an easier version (you can see what I meant by covering something up, what does that colour suggest?)

Nope. It is FGW-managed though (which should be obvious).

You can see this sign on the Stations Made Easy page (at an oblique angle) and check that the letter lines up with the hoardings in the way it does in my picture.
