In the late 80s/early 90s when the southern section of the WCML was closed for Sunday engineering works, trains were sometimes diverted to St Pancras, being dragged from Nuneaton to Bedford and then carrying on under their own power to St Pancras.

I'm not convinced it is SWT, there is no orange anywhere. It certainly is not on the Hounslow or Kingston loops, nor is it on the Shepperton branch. I don't recognise it and my route knowledge extends over the SWT metro area except south of Epsom.
