It looks like the very end of Manchester Victoria/Exchange looking towards Salford, but that doesn't fit with the electrification clue. :?

Sorry about vanishing last night, I was doing some significant data crunching. Fortunately you all noticed I'd left you an obvious one :D.

Some updated graphs, which I think show some interesting things. Apologies, the timeline features a bad editorial by me.

Wow!

Your graph work continues to impress me. Slightly dissapointed to see my thread 'Guess The Train Class' well off the pace of this one, but I distinctively remember the day this thread started, seeing the amount of replies and thinking 'Heck, TP has made one good Quiz!'

Top quality graphs and some very interesting data to. :)

I have to say Manors looks like a very good shout.

Yep you're right but gg1 got there first -this is the ECML and note the bullhead rail with wooden keys on the inside! taken in 1975

Hehe. Subways are always tricky ones.

I know it isn't, but I'll still guess Stourbridge Jn. Can we have lots of clues please? :D

This station hasn't come up in this thread before but the stations immediately before and immediately after on the same line have.

2025 on the 17th May 2011 ;)
Thanks, that seems really recent, I'd have expected the date to be further back than that - it seems I appeared 2 days after Guess the Station overtook Stagecoach NW thread. :)

As for the station, I haven't a clue. :o

That's not fantastically useful. ;) I do have a list of the ~1600 stations that haven't yet appeared on the thread, but I can't yet do anything with that list. I was hoping for a geographical clue... :D In the mean time, I shall randomly name stations with subways, like perhaps Leamington Spa.

Class172, what Matt tells you is indeed correct. Apologies to everyone not on the timeline, I could only realistically fit on mentions of the top 10 posters, and even then not all of them. If I get a chance I'll redo one of my earlier graphs showing a posting density timeline for all contributors. Gosh I'm slightly sad.

Having mentioned my list of un-featured stations, does anyone fancy having a really good go at clearing stations from the list? Say I managed process a nice list of stations on the Merseyrail network (for example), we could perhaps have a week of Mersey-related guessing festivites? Although maybe not exclusively, as that could get tedious... :)

A couple of clues as this is quite a hard one:

It's on a electrified route
It has 4 platforms, but only 2 of them are in use

That surely makes it Northfield. Certainly fits the appeared/not appeared clue you gave. :D
