I note there seems to have once upon a time been an electrified track to the left - possibly a branch BUT not serving a platform because the back face of the platform the photographer is on is a sloping face. The railings made from rails would date it way back but I reckon they might have predated the unused arm of the electrification mast. I think the track would have followed the line of the taller fence in the distance and joined the track that has the platform. So perhaps a station with a removed goods loop going round the back of the platform.

There's only a handful of GA stations in Hertfordshire, but I'm not sure I can identify the right one.
