I think that given the size of the white band on the BR sign, the station is NSE (it allows for the flashes at the bottom). I don't think there is any OHLE. Judging by the width of the footbridge, we are probably looking at double track, although there may be a back platform.

Deptford?

No particular reason, but the locations guessed all seem to fit the bill. I will take your hint though. Ashford (Middlesex)?

Potential catorgories for the other two TOCs:
Great Western (Brighton-Southampton, including Pompey, Redhill-Gatwick)
South Western (Havant-Soton, including Pompey)
Thameslink (Sutton Loop, London Bridge-Brighton)
A couple on the West Coast, but these are ruled out by the lack of OHLE.
South Eastern (Redhill area, London Bridge area, Victoria area)

Reigate (served by Great Western and South Eastern)?

Southeastern no longer go west of Tonbridge. And Reigate is not that far above the ground.

I think the Solent area seems like a good bet, but I'm struggling.

Ooh, didn't realise that. I'm not exactly up to date with such timetablingon the Southern.
In that case, in terms of sensible answers, we are left with the Saints-Pompey area. Someone has pulled me up before with a similar clue that many shacks in said area have no Great Western services stopping, so I'll stick to fairly major ones. Cosham?

Looks like Portchester to me. But to the best of my knowledge only Southern and South West stop there. FGW pass through there but don't recall them ever stopping there. I am going to say Portchester because it looks very much like it.

Open floor if right.
