A Swindon Cross Country unit. I believe they were mainly Western with a few on the LMR. I don't know, but I'll try Parson St as a slightly random guess as the track layout fits. Open floor in the highly unlikely event.

Most 120s were based at Etches Park by the 1980s, when this photo looks like it was taken. I've no idea where it is though.

I'm back!!

OxtedL's is Droitwich Spa, Droitwich Spa! That looks like a shot from the 80s. The bridge is still there today but the station building on the left was demolished in the 1980s, and was replaced by a boring, minimalist building opened in 1991 (I think) - the opening plaque inside says Opened by BR Provincial! I wish I could have seen the old station building :)

Usually the line was operated by class 116s but sometimes 120s. The service was different in that all B'ham trains went to New St, with services gong via Bromsgrove or Kidderminster.

I even know where you goto it from Droitwich Spa 1981
And a load of other old photos of the place from the 20th Century

I won't be on the computer until at least 09:00 so if anyone wants to fill in in the meantime then feel free :)

Yup. I realised you were off for a bit, so played my card and had everybody absolutely speechless with terror there... :D

Here's the link again, if anyone missed it: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2419540
When I saw you had put that picture up I franticly looked through the posts to see if anyone was right, hoping they were wrong! If someone had got it correct, you'd would've been in bit trouble <D;)

To save double posting I shall now put up this picture:

Now you're getting warmer, not saying how much though ;)

As promised, a clue (as a larger picture)

I'm really struggling to track down West Midlands stations with island platforms, so will go with Duddeston...

Yes, it was a rather desperate guess, and typed before you edited the clue in. Alas.

I'm fully aware it isn't, but Hawthorns?

It's evidently a three platformed station on the Snow Hill lines. Dorridge?

TB, I hope you are having a good time up in bonny Scotland.
