How did I not get that? I was there literally days ago! I thought I recognised it, but disregarded said belief and threw up something completely random. I even took at least one pic of City Hospital, so I should have had it...

Something for MattE, our apparent staffing expert: When you go over to NI, pay particular attention at City Hospital. Would you agree that it should have a staffed presence? If Botanic does (probably for Uni purposes), why not it? Also, thank you for that link you sent me

Hehehe! Surely the obviously broad gauge track gives it away? And those peculiar twin bore overbridges unique to the Belfast Central Railway.

Historically, before GVS opened, Botanic was the nearest station to Belfast City Centre, so was built with a booking office. City Hospital was only opened in 1986 and was an afterthought. It only had an hourly service until about 10 years ago, whereas almost everything, including some Dublin trains, stopped at Botanic. A better solution to having two stations 1/4 mile apart, would have been to have had one with an entrance on Lisburn Road, rather than two with entrances on Botanic Avenue and Donegall Road, serving Shaftesbury Square, the University, the hospital and the Village as well as the current arrangements.
