So are many, many others... :( Even FGW trains have details of Romford control in the cabs.

If Arlesey is too far north there aren't that many possibilites. I know that it is wrong (or, if it isn't, something else is wrong and I don't mean me!), but West Ham.

There's a reason for FGW having details of Romford control in their cabs. West Ham is wrong as you suspected. I'm 100% sure I'm not wrong either.

Rule 1 of Guess the Station... Unless there is clear evidence to the contrary, or the poser is from Track Basher, always goes for a local station to the person whose picture it is. Southall?

The wires go no further than HAY (well, Airport Junction), and I fail to see how this station is at Heathrow...

:D I'm not native to the area if it's any consolation. It isn't Southall, but just re-juggle some words from your response and you'll have the answer....

You mean it is at Heathrow? I would have to assume Terminal 4, because I think the other two are in tunnels but am unsure about 4?

Dude, T4 is in a tunnel like all the Heathrow stations nowadays. The last / only obvious clue to give is that this station no longer exists.

I know now. It's that random station that lasted about a day (exaggeration of course) called Heathrow Junction.

I thought T4 was in a tunnel but hadn't seen pictures to prove it.

Well done. You worked hard for that one. It lasted for 5 months if Wikipedia has it's facts right (which is dubious). The Heathrow Fast Train operated from Paddington direct to Heathrow Junction, whereupon you would take a bus service into Heathrow Airport. Preliminary service before the Heathrow Express started proper.

I'll leave the floor open because I would otherwise receive an ear-bashing if I don't check the forum until 3pm or whatever having put a picture up.

...Oh, sod it; given it's a Sunday and people are likely to have lie-ins, I'll put one up anyway. I will be on no later than 13:00 if at all possible.

Have fun with this one. It's not what you'd call easy...! I will give you two clues right off: This station is neither Scottish nor subject to OHLE. Both of which should be obvious for one reason or another! <D (No OHLE visible, while none of mine are Scottish!)

I'm not sure this is FGW, I think there might be a conductor rail in the foreground and this is quite possibly SWT.

I spend a lot of time staring at conductor rails and wondering when the Uckfield will get them, and I'm absolutely certain that there ARE some (cough) in that picture.

I will therefore NOT take a massive swipe at Freshford. As that would be stupid. <D

EDIT: Well 1300 has been and gone Ivo...

Quoted just in case you delete.:D

I thought it was SWT to start with but then the FGW guesses came in which put me off the scent. I looked again this morning and I know that SWT use those seats and I was convinced about the 3rd rail. Then it was just a question of working out which stations had only three platforms.;)
