Its very close to a station, and its not Birmingham International.

This thread has been struggling of late because of the issue with the rule changes. As some people suddenly started leaving their shots for hours on end without warning, it got a bit dull. This thread was at its best when it was frenetic. We tried to do something about it, and it didn't go too well.

Once everyone has plenty of "ammunition" () available to them again, this thread will receive a kickstart. It should be said that I doubt anyone - including TP, the OP - would have expected this thread to last this long.

I too am running a bit short on shots, but my situation is a bit different. I wanted one last night (not of a train admittedly) and had to ask a friend to do so on her Blackberry. Not least because I wouldn't have had the faintest clue how to use it!

And look at me - all this malarkey about me managing 1,000 posts in 28 days, and suddenly I'm in standby mode. And I shan't be posting much tonight either, because I am going out again...

Let's try to give this thread a kickstart.

And before anyone asks, the guy in the shot was not the subject of this picture; he just happened to be there. Indeed, this has been heavily cropped (bit of a trademark of mine of late!); the main subject of this picture was a special service - which the guy is also photting.

I'm ahead of you on the 28 day leaderboard, but only just! ;)

Anyway, my guess is Welwyn Garden City.

This weekend should be designated as a long rest weekend of guess the station. It is like a reverse driveby shooting. Get out do lots of shooting in order to store ammunition rather than spend it! Then store it and spend it slowly at a later day.

The current picture is awful. Ivo were you using an istamatic 110 from the 1970s?

It's not often i get these so, despite there being no station in the photo, Poppers is coventry. (and just to make his post more against the rules, the car park in the photo is not the station car park but that of the retail park next door.)

Lest not think negative!

The idea for a quiz of this type on RUK didn't come from me - I was talking to another member who also uses other forums. Of one ran this quiz... I thought why not and gave it a go!

~5 months on were still going - I have not really contributed much really as most of my pics are of the same stations.
I have just done my 3d in 7 Anglia Plus but didn't take camera with me  on any day. But thinking about it all of those would have been limited to a certain area!

This thread will not be closed - the people who frequent bring no harm, the thread is established and it will take alot to wreck it! When the pics stop flowing and the guess' stop coming - the thread will close it's self.

But that is far off!

We have to live through the times where people have run out and allow for that - it may slow down but it'll take a load of breaks to stop!!!

I did never expect this to still be going!

Sorry; got called away for a few hours without warning.

This shot has been magnified by 100% because the shot would otherwise be so small (less than 200x200).

By the way, why does everyone think that this is on the Great Northern route?

Welwyn GC? Ally Pally? Finsbury Park? Stevenage? This station is not FCC GN!

Not wishing to steal the floor from westcoaster, but to keep things moving, I'll put this pic up. Given the skill of the regular guessers here, I imagine it'll go quickly, but if not, and if westcoaster does return with a picture, I'll pull this down and save it for later :)

I have a funny feeling that if you've actually visited this station, you'll get it straight away. If you've only studied it from pictures, it might not be so obvious.

The picture is reasonably recent (a year or two) and as per, is my own.

Looks like a Scottish station; the name on the van adds to it. It looks rural, somewhere in the Highlands... perhaps an unusual view of Mallaig?

If so, floor's open.

me123 - Correct! It was Mallaig, its rather sad-looking buffer stops, and its ever-useful Co-op.

Re: the open floor, I do have some more pictures of equally high quality :) - but don't wish to hog it so will leave it an hour or so to see if anyone wants to jump in.

I'll take that open floor, two mins!
