Winnersh (appologies if this doesn't fit the Moterway clue, I don't really do roads)

It just fails the motorway clue. And I mean, just. And I should know that; I climbed up to the M4 when I was little from a field on the edge of Winnersh!

I haven't visited my family there since June... I tried a few weeks ago, but had no response...

Also, Winnersh has side platforms. There is no such fence there. I know it too well... Funnily enough, when I went through it a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that it had both old and new SWT signs! :roll:

A decent guess in all honesty. But I fail to see why it would need DMU boards as opposed to X Car boards (as with Avoncliff). That is the crucial piece to this picture.

Winchester has Voyagers Seen as I missed it, Shawford is also wrong.

A reminder:

At least one of the early guesses was within 25 miles.
This station is not managed by EMT.
It is south of Nottingham.
It has no high speed trains of any description.
It is not in the Southampton urban area.
There is a reason it has a DMU stop sign specifically.
NEW CLUE: This station is south of the M4.
NEW CLUE: The services that require the presence of the DMU stop signs are run by either SWT or FGW.

OK fine. The early station that was within 25 miles was Redbridge. But seen as you've constantly guessed stations around Southampton, that won't help will it?

I probably need to stop adding little bits to my posts after posting. Since Havant must be wrong, then not Netley but somewhere else and why am I still typing someone please help I think I'm starting to go mad?

Havant does at least fit all the clues I don't see why Netley would have a DMU stop sign though; they only pass through without stopping. Cosham is also wrong, but as with Havant it does at least seem to fit

Just in case there is any doubt, I am now at the stage where I am working along the West Coastway on Wikipedia.

It has to be within 25 miles of Redbridge, so you won't get much further east than Havant. As for the other way, I'm not actually sure how far you can go! I know you wouldn't reach Bournemouth though. EDIT: Actually, you might! :? It's 92 chains too far by train, but in a straight line it's well under 25 miles!

Honestly, don't worry about it. If anything it's taught me to look more closely at previous posts (and possibly to not reply so quickly?)! It is of course easier for everyone else not to, but it's not a problem if you do.

I think there's a lesson in this for everyone. You picture may have been a smidge ambiguous. And I may have rattled off a list of 21 stations in 3 hours.

I knew it was hard, but in practice I honestly thought that someone would recognise it. It's not as though it's a station that no-one ever visits, and given that I repeatedly emphasised the fact that there was a specific reason for the DMU stop sign (i.e. the DMUs that alternate the line with 450s) should have made it much easier For the record, I took this on the last weekday of slammer operation.

Anyway, well done. I'm going to head up to bed now.
