Blame TB for this.

Took this from a 444 unit, which should help a bit.:D

Obviously on the South Western division, probably on one of the the lines to Portsmouth or Weymouth. Looks like waste land behind the platform, which suggests it is probably far away from London. Some form of TESCO reduced price salad, so in a conurbation large enough to have a branch of TESCO. Beyond that I havn't the moggiest. Dorchester South?

OK ..my logically thinking to a guess is

HOOK

The reasoning being that I occasionally use to travel there on business. The person who I was meeting had a cat just like that. Sometimes we would go into Tescos next to the station for a coffee...!

No other guess or comment...!

"a conurbation large enough to have a branch of Tesco"???

That doesn't narrow things down much!

Once the silly season is over I'll hopefully have scanned another pile of oldies and will storm back onto the scene.

An incredibly accurate guess, but not Dorchester unfortunately. Everything else was spot on.:D

The 444 was not on a stopping service, and the 'wasteland' is just a little grassy bit behind which is one of two station car parks.

That's saved some of my punts from being used. And not on a stopper, so presumably a Pompey direct. That is the end of this dose of logic, back to guess work. Petersfield?

No island platforms so it had the highest probability of being right (I didn't think it was Havant).

Sprinterguy has it.

TB, I believe the wheel from York was relocated to Bridlington. The wheel al Cleethorpes has been there years and isn't that big.

Indeed it has. Only 3 platforms left in public use, one lifted completely, the others occasionally used for stabling. Most of the carriage sidings gone. The station buildings remain, though modernised and containing two real ale pubs.
