I think it is in East Anglia. You have a dyke type construction in the right of the picture and the only place I can recall these is in East Anglia. You also have absolute block signalling which also fits with East Anglia. It also has a signal box very near because you can see the manual signalling and the wires do not streach very far these days. Further away from the box have been replaced by colour lights.

It could also be potentially Lincolnshire but I am fairly sure it is in that area.

I can tell its east Anglia, as if you look carefully next to the shelter on the left, there is a certain HELP POINT painted into Anglia-ONE coulurs which can be found at nerly all East Anglia stations

It is just not the same on a 158.

It's actually 175. 260 had hauled us from Inverness to Georgemas on the Orcadian, which we'd caught after hanging around Inverness for nearly 2 hours after arriving on the cushions on the sleeper from Edinburgh at 04:50. It's February '85, and 260-262 were large logo by then.

Happy times. Never done it on a 158. Last time I went it was 1993 on a 156. Better than a 158 for this route, but not exactly a tractor.

I'm not sure what it is, but 47826 was a Cross Country loco and it looks like it is hauling a standard rake of XC Mk2s. I think we are looking at somewhere that lost IC services in the 2002 cutbacks on Virgin.

The InterCity operator that used to serve the station, at privatisation, would have been Cross Country (plus the local train operator) had the trains still operated. That would not be the case if these trains were to operate today.
