The route between Point Pleasant Jn and Wimbledon via East Putney was often used by railtours.

The thought has occurred to me-
There is no driver in the cab.
More research and then I cannot recall a pure Hastings unit carrying the 6 digit number unless this was a rare occasion such as a quick repaint job particularly as the unit looks like in green livery. Looking hard at that number it does look right to me. Most if not all carried a 4 digit number in the 1000 series.

Certainly I can't recall myself ever having seen a Hastings unit with any set number outside the 1000 series, but if the Mugster has a photo of one, it must have carried it.

After much research during the day -
I confirm that unit no. 1001 carried the number 203001 as a 4 car unit with green livery around 1987/1988.
I suggest it was on the SEG railtour of 14th November 1987 called "Inner City Express" which travelled around the London suburbs including travelling over some tracks used by London Underground trains.

Time for a visit to Six Bells Jn, back shortly.

I have done some more research. If it is this particular tour it only went on the 4th rail network in two places. Gospel Oak to Wembley Central, however the exact route is not show so do not know if it went via Camden Road or Willesden Jn LL. It may not have gone on the 4th rail network at this point.

Later the tour went Euston - Willesden Jn LL before derailing at Kensal Green Jn and being cancelled this has to be on the 4th rail system. This leaves only a very limited number of stations (Queens Park - Willesden Jn LL which include 4th rail). The only island platforms are Queens Road and Willesden Jn (this includes the section up to Wembley Central if it went on the DC earlier in the tour).

At this point Willesden Jn is looking good but I will cover the other option of Queens Park.

All this working out and it will be another tour!

That tour visited Willesden Jnc in the early evening but subsequently derailed as it left, the tour was then terminated.

In the down direction Queens Park is adjacent to the WCML fast and slow lines, at Willesden it is adjacent to a grassy bank which rules out Queens Park. It's either Willesden or we are comepletely wrong.

MT and me think it is Willesden Jn Low Level but he appears to have been abducted by aliens (or South West Trains) and we cannot confirm the answer. We gave up waiting.
