I think you can just make out the top of the overall roof at the end of 8A. At least I can in the original snap...........

I took another photo of 40122 heading under Holgate Bridge. There's a lad of about 15 or 16 in it holding a camera and wearing a white T-shirt and dark blue jacket? It it you? Unfortunately I haven't scanned that shot and can't as I don't have a scanner (have to take batches of shots to my sister's house in York when I go there and gradually digitise the collection).

I was older that that at the time.

I have just realised it is not the same tour. I was there in the very last run to York when it went into the NRM.

Lets try a bit of third rail.

Indeed. The disused platform to the left was intended for when the line was extended through to Leatherhead, but Greenbelt land between Chessy and Leatherhead stopped it ever being built. The right hand platform has been in used for roughly 60 years.

NB - My caps lock ain't working, sorry for the grammar.

Here, one of the nicest stations I have ever been to in a truly spectacular part of Britain.

One of the nicest? It's a bus shelter!! I wouldn't ever go to St Pancras if I were you; your head would probably explode with excitement! ;)

Nice pub next door; the platform on the other side backs onto a beautiful river, and you can see for miles and miles over the beautiful East Country ruralness. I think the bloke who owns the old station house is an enthusiast, don't quoute me on that, but apprently he told my dad the times of the HSTs through there when he was photoing after me. What a beautiful part fo the world.
