Being from "up North" I am fairly good on the North and Scotland, and fairly good in Wales these days. Having only visited many places once south of London I struggle a bit.

It *appears* to say "Soton Ctl" (I had to zoom in 4x to make it clear enough). That led me to the Southampton to Portsmouth route.
