I'm not 100% certain, but as soon as I saw the loco it rang some sort of bell of a report in Rail Enthusiast of 47401 on an Exeter > Waterloo working. I remember thinking at the time how lucky some people were to take 50s so much for granted that 47401 could be regarded as a good thing! Growing up on a diet of North Trans-Pennine workings, 47401 was not only not sought after, and not even just the most boring loco off Gateshead. It was almost certainly the most boring loco on the whole of BR: the pioneer loco of the most dull sub-class of the most dull diesel class!

Looking again, the Eastleigh based stock makes me a lot more certain that I'm correct!
If so, the floor's open because I'm at work today and won't be able to post any pictures. I've only got two left anyway, so have to conserve them!
